About Us
TAC provides IT organizations with enterprise-wide access to objective, actionable advice for resolving IT challenges and issues. Through our suite of services, products and workshops, we help IT organizations make decisions more quickly and cost effectively.
 

TAC (The Advisory Council) was originally conceived in 2002 as an online replacement for traditional research and advisory services such as Gartner and Forrester. Since then we have evolved, based on client demand, into a new generation networked firm offering a host of services, products and workshops. With personalization at the core of TAC’s business model, we believe that the support we now offer is the broadest coverage in the marketplace.

In July 2010, TAC announced its Expertise-as-a-Service™ (EaaS™) initiative, a new concept in building efficient and high performing IT organizations. Designed to support the new demands of today’s IT organizations, EaaS is a comprehensive suite of service offerings, products and workshops designed to operate as a virtual extension of clients’ IT organizations. This service model enables clients to determine the proper level of support for their enterprises by selecting only those EaaS components their organizations need.

Alan Guibord Alan Guibord — Founder & Chairman
Mr. Guibord has more than 25 years of experience leading IT organizations as CIO with both Fortune 100 companies and small-to-midsize businesses.  He was most recently CEO of Computerworld, and has served as VP and CIO of Fort James Corp., VP Information Technology at RR Donnelley & Sons, CIO of PictureTel, and VP MIS and Administrative Services at Timeplex.
Mike Greene Michael Greene — Vice President, North America Sales
Mr. Greene has more than 13 years of development and sales experience in IT and information products and services. Michael has worked for such companies as Thomson Financial and Sungard. Michael’s passion is to develop a sales organization where true relationships are built with clients, and “exceeded expectations” feedback from clients is the norm. Self educated in IT, Michael has a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology and Genetics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Peter Schay Peter Schay — President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Schay has more than 25 years of experience as a senior IT executive in both IT vendor and research industries.  He was most recently VP, Chief Technology Officer of SiteShell Corp.  Previously, at Gartner, he was Group VP, Global Research Infrastructure & Support.  He was also one of Gartner’s leading analysts, launching their coverage of client-server computing in the early 1990s.
